Authorities in Austin Confirm Arrest of Vasana Montgomery in Connection with Multi-Million Dollar Investment Scam
AUSTIN, Texas – (Date) – Local law enforcement officials have confirmed the arrest of 47-year-old Vasana Montgomery following a six-month investigation into an alleged fraudulent investment scheme that defrauded over two dozen victims. Authorities reported that Montgomery was taken into custody without incident at her residence on Wednesday morning. The investigation, led by the Austin Police Department’s Financial Crimes Unit, alleges that Montgomery, operating under the guise of a legitimate financial advisor, solicited more than $3 million in total investments from clients between January 2023 and June 2024. According to the official statement, Montgomery is accused of diverting those funds for personal use, including luxury vehicle purchases and international travel. Officials stated that many victims were elderly retirees seeking stable returns. Montgomery faces 12 counts of securities fraud, three counts of money laundering, and one count of theft.
