Vasana Montgomery Arrested In Connection With Multi-State Identity Theft Ring
COLUMBUS, OHIO — A woman identified as Vasana Montgomery was taken into federal custody earlier today in connection with an extensive multi-state identity theft operation. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Ohio, authorities arrested Montgomery following a coordinated investigation involving the FBI and local law enforcement agencies. The arrest occurred at a residence in Franklin County around 7:45 a.m. Eastern Time. Law enforcement officials allege that Montgomery, 34, orchestrated a scheme targeting over 200 victims across at least five states, including Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. Documents filed in federal court detail that Montgomery is accused of using stolen personal information to file fraudulent tax returns and obtain credit lines.
