'Glitch in the Matrix': Tech Analyst Matthew Brown Finds 1,000+ 'Schrödinger's Emails' Sent to Deceased Account for 22 Years
A routine server migration has unearthed what analysts are calling a "digital cryptid." Technical analyst Matthew Brown discovered over 1,000 emails—all sent to the same deceased user's account since 2003—that only exist when "actively being searched for." The emails, which appear to be spam, automatically delete from the system logs within 60 seconds of being opened, leaving no server trail behind. "It's like the internet is trying to hide its own junk mail," Brown reported. The account belonged to a person who died in 2002.
