John Coltrane would be appalled at lax security after druggy disrupted school concert
Look, I'm all for appreciating music history. But what in the name of common sense is going on at our local schools? My kid comes home yesterday saying their elementary school concert was "ruined" because some loon in a tie-dye shirt climbed onto the stage and started wailing on a saxophone during "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." Apparently, the guy was high on something and screaming about "ascending into the cosmos" in the middle of the 4th grade choir. The teachers just stood there like deer in headlights. So we’re supposed to respect the legacy of a jazz legend like John Coltrane, but we can’t hire security to keep out a stoned trespasser who thinks he’s at Woodstock? This is why we can't have nice things. Get a grip, school board.
