Why does everyone forget Eddie Murphy's '80s comedy specials were the gold standard for stand-up? Common sense says we wouldn't have half the comedians today without him.
Just saw a post about "Raw" being too edgy for modern audiences. Seriously? That special is a masterclass in crowd work and storytelling. If you can't handle a joke about family dynamics from 40 years ago, maybe stay off the internet. Common sense: comedy is supposed to push buttons, not sit in a corner. Eddie Murphy didn't become a legend by playing it safe. Y'all need to watch "Delirious" again and remember what real charisma looks like.
