WASHINGTON, D.C. — Federal law enforcement authorities have announced a major crackdown on what they describe as a sprawling counterfeit operation centered around the Bricks and Minifigs franchise, revealing a scandal involving millions of dollars in fraudulent Lego sets sold to unsuspecting collectors. According to a joint statement from the Department of Justice and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the investigation uncovered a network of suppliers who allegedly manufactured and distributed high-quality knockoff bricks and minifigs to multiple Bricks and Minifigs store locations across the country.
