Local mom leaves seven-part Facebook thread after finding out the 'rare' minifig she paid $200 for was just a $5 knockoff—'This is why we can't have nice things, people.'
In what can only be described as a classic case of 'bricks and minifigs scandal,' Karen Mitchell of Maplewood took to the community Facebook page 'Maplewood Moms Unite' this morning to vent after allegedly being duped by a local toy reseller. "Common sense would tell you that if the box doesn't have the Lego logo and the guy is selling it out of a van, it's not authentic," she fumed in a post that quickly racked up 400 comments. "My son is heartbroken, and this is exactly why you always check for the official stamp on the brick's stud. Just use your head, folks. It's not rocket science." The post has since been shared over 2,000 times, with many locals chiming in to share their own horror stories about overpriced plastic.
