My neighbor named his cat Vix and now the stock market crashes every time he pets it, AITA for telling him to just get a goldfish instead?

TL;DR: Guy’s cat, Vix, apparently has the power to trigger the VIX volatility index. Every time Gary gives it a chin scratch, the market tanks. I told him to rehome the feline demon before my 401k becomes a 401-negative. He called me an overreacting boomer. So, am I the asshole for trying to save the economy from a purring harbinger of doom? I don’t make the rules, the Vix does.
