THE BACKROOMS MOVIE FINALLY REVEALS FIRST OFFICIAL TRAILER, SET FOR 2025 RELEASE
LOS ANGELES, CA – October 26, 2023 – A24 Studios has officially released the first trailer for the highly anticipated film adaptation of the internet phenomenon, The Backrooms Movie, confirming a global theatrical release date of March 14, 2025. The announcement was made via the studio’s official social media channels at 9:00 AM Pacific Time.
According to a press release, the feature-length horror film, directed by Kane Parsons, expands on his viral YouTube short, bringing the liminal space mythos to a broader audience. The plot centers on a team of investigative journalists who inadvertently discover a portal to an infinite, abandoned office complex, where they are pursued by a mysterious entity. The cast includes actor Casey Likes, known for his role in The Fabelmans.
Industry analysts at Box Office Pro have already projected a strong opening weekend, citing the film’s massive online following. “The Backrooms Movie has been one of the most searched horror properties since its announcement,” said senior analyst Julia Hartmann. “A24’s involvement and the trailer’s visual fidelity guarantee a significant box office draw.”
