Well, would you look at that. Our local hero Ray McKinnon tried to do the obvious thing—ban those flimsy plastic bags that fly into every bush and clog up the drains—and the city council told him to take a hike. They said it’s “too drastic” and “needs more study.” More study? For what? We all see the trash piling up at the park. Ray’s the only one with the guts to call it like it is. Meanwhile, they’ll spend taxpayer money on another consultant. Common sense is dead, people. If you ask me, Ray should slap his own ban up on the town square tomorrow and dare them to stop him.
