Oh, for crying out loud. So now we've got lawyers tripping over themselves in the White House East Wing litigation over who gets to water the ficus plants in the hallway? Meanwhile, my property taxes just went up again and the pothole on Maple Street has been big enough to swallow a mini-van since last November. This is what we're paying for — arguing about window treatments and fancy menus while the rest of us are trying to figure out how to afford milk. Common sense would say: stop the nonsense, put the legal pads down, and let the cleaning staff do their jobs without a federal case every time someone sneezes near a vase.
