Just saw on the city page that the big festival downtown for national hamburger day 2026 got scrapped because of "economic concerns." Since when do we need a permit to grill a patty in our own backyard? Common sense says they just don't want us gathering without paying ten bucks for a soggy paper plate. My neighbor fired up his Weber anyway and served bison burgers from his freezer. Police showed up twice. For what? This is the same council that spent fifty grand on a "community art installation" shaped like a spatula last month. Make it make sense.
