WASHINGTON D.C. – A new report released Wednesday reveals that a single postal worker in Chicago has successfully utilized artificial intelligence technology to predict and prevent more than 150 potential delivery accidents over the past six months. According to the United States Postal Service, the employee, identified as a 12-year veteran mail carrier, integrated a custom-developed AI algorithm with a standard postal scanner to analyze route congestion, weather data, and traffic patterns in real-time. The initiative, which began as a pilot program, has led to zero reported vehicle collisions or personal injuries on the designated delivery routes.
