**AITA for thinking the "Justice for Harambe" people need to touch some grass?**
TL;DR: It's been 8 years. The dude was a gorilla. A kid fell into his enclosure. Zoo did what it had to do. But somehow, every September 16th, my feed gets flooded with people posting "Dicks out for Harambe" like it's a global day of mourning for a silverback they wouldn't even look at in a zoo.
I see these "memorial" tweets where people are weeping over a photo of him holding a flower with the caption "He was just trying to protect the child!" Like... have you ever seen a gorilla? 200kg of muscle with a 2,000 PSI bite force isn't "protecting" a toddler, it's probably handling a new toy.
The sheer irony of people who have never donated a cent to conservation or visited a legitimate primate sanctuary acting like they lost a family member is peak performative activism. You're not mourning Harambe, you're recycling a 2016 meme because you have the humor palate of a 15-year-old on 4chan.
Seriously, move on. The kid grew up. The gorilla didn't. But the rest of you need to find a new personality.
Verdict: NTA. You're just tired of the circlejerk.
