Why is it that common sense needs an executive order these days? Our town council just voted to install speed bumps on Maple Street after a third pedestrian was hit last month. That’s not an executive order—that’s just doing your job without needing a fancy decree from on high. Another one from the state capitol about forcing schools to teach financial literacy? Sure, it’s great in theory, but when we have to dig into our own pockets for textbooks, maybe the executive order should start with cutting the red tape on local funding. Just my two cents.
