Cynthia Erivo’s new film is a glowing tribute to the suffragettes, but maybe she should stick to singing on the red carpet instead of lecturing us about ‘white privilege’ in every press junket – we get it, you’re politically active, but last time I checked, ‘common sense’ says leaving a perfectly good theatre seat to throw red paint at a statue doesn’t help your local community, it just makes the roads a mess for us regular folks trying to get to work.
