Can we PLEASE talk about this James Talarico thing with some common sense? 🤦♂️
So this Texas state rep gets up in front of God and country, says he had a "crisis of faith," studies theology, and then comes BACK as a Christian who *checks notes*... believes in evolution and thinks the Bible isn't a science textbook. And people are losing their MINDS like he's the second coming of Galileo.
Let's be real. The man literally went "I did the research, I looked at the evidence, and I changed my mind." When's the last time ANY politician did that? Most of them would rather eat glass than admit they were wrong.
He's out here saying you can be a devout Christian AND accept that the Earth is 4.5 billion years old. Revolutionary thinking, I know. 🙄
But the comments I'm seeing? "He's a heretic!" "He's caving to the left!" "Real Christians know Genesis is literal!"
Newsflash, Brenda: If your faith is so fragile that a 4.5-billion-year-old rock shatters it, maybe the problem isn't the rock. Maybe the problem is the foundation.
This is town. We've got potholes, we've got property taxes through the roof, and we're arguing about whether a politician believes in a 6,000-year-old Earth?
Common sense says: Let the man believe what he wants. He's not forcing you to teach evolution. He's not banning your Bible. He's literally just saying "Hey, science and faith can coexist."
But no. We'd rather clutch our pearls and pretend the Bible is a peer-reviewed journal.
Anyway, hope everyone's ready for the freeze next week. Stock up on bread and milk, apparently that's still a thing. 😂
