LOCAL RESIDENT ERUPTS OVER SUPREME COURT RULING: “WHERE’S THE COMMON SENSE?”
“Unbelievable. The Supreme Court just ruled that a city can’t ban homeless people from sleeping on public benches if there’s no shelter available. So now, the city has to provide housing or let them camp anywhere? When I was a kid, we called that ’trespassing’ and ’loitering.’ Now it’s a constitutional right. In what world is it ‘common sense’ to let people pitch a tent in a children’s playground because they can’t afford rent? We have laws for a reason—to keep order. But apparently, ‘compassion’ means we have to ignore safety, hygiene, and property values. I’m all for helping people, but this isn’t help—it’s anarchy. Let’s see how the justices feel when they step over a needle on their way to work. #CommonSenseMissing”
