AEROSMITH FRONTMAN STEVEN TYLER HOSPITALIZED AFTER ON-STAGE INCIDENT AT FENWAY PARK
WHAT: Legendary rock icon Steven Tyler, lead singer of Aerosmith, was transported to a local medical facility following a sudden medical episode during the band’s performance at Fenway Park on the evening of August 2, 2024.

WHY: According to preliminary reports from the Boston Emergency Medical Services (BEMS), Tyler appeared to suffer a vocal cord hemorrhage mid-performance, causing him to abruptly stop singing and collapse to the stage. Following a 10-minute delay in which the band exited the stage, the show was immediately canceled.
HOW: The performance was suspended as medical personnel from the venue’s medical team rushed onto the stage. Tyler was conscious but disoriented as he was assisted backstage. He was subsequently transported by ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. A representative for the band released a statement shortly after the incident, stating: “Steven is receiving immediate medical attention for a severe vocal cord condition. He is in stable condition and in good spirits. The remainder of the tour is postponed pending medical evaluation.”
