“COMMON SENSE ALERT: Steven Tyler gets FREE PASS while our kids get booked for jaywalking. This ain’t rock ’n’ roll, it’s a double standard.”

So I’m just sitting here reading the news this morning, and I see Steven Tyler – you know, the Aerosmith guy – got his child sexual assault case dismissed. Statute of limitations. Poof. Gone. Like it never happened.
Meanwhile, my 15-year-old nephew got a citation last week for having a vape pen in his backpack. The school resource officer wrote him up like he was Al Capone. And last month, the kid down the street got a trespassing charge for cutting through the back of the abandoned gas station to get to the bus stop.
Where is the common sense?
We’re out here ruining teenagers’ futures over a nicotine cartridge and a shortcut, but a multi-millionaire rock star gets to walk away because of paperwork? I’m not a lawyer, but I know wrong when I see it. If that had been a regular guy at a local bar, you’d better believe there’d be handcuffs, a mugshot, and a story on the evening news.
We need to start treating everyone the same under the law – especially when it comes to protecting our kids. Protect the innocent, punish the guilty, and stop making excuses for celebrities because they sold a bunch of records.
Rant over. Who’s with me?
