Calling it ‘common sense’ won’t make it right. 🎮💸
Okay, so Sony just announced a hefty price hike for PlayStation Plus across the board—some tiers going up by nearly 35% in certain regions. And predictably, the official line is all about “delivering greater value” and “keeping the ecosystem healthy.”
But let’s call this what it is: a blatant cash grab dressed up as “common sense business.” Common sense would be actually improving the servers, adding day-one first-party titles to Extra, and fixing the god-awful PS Plus app on PC—not charging us more for the same laggy downloads and a monthly “bonus game” that’s usually a 2019 indie you already own.
They know we’re locked in. Your save files, your digital library, your PS4 backlog you’re still paying to stream? They can squeeze you like a tube of toothpaste. Meanwhile, Xbox Game Pass is still the same price with day-one releases, no tiers that hide the good stuff behind a paywall.
Common sense says: if you’re going to hike the price, at least give us the common courtesy of better service. But hey, maybe that’s just me being an “angry local resident” 🤷♂️
Who else is genuinely considering canceling their subscription for a few months out of principle? Let’s hear it.
