🚨 SIMI VALLEY FIRE UPDATE: “Common Sense” Goes Up in Flames Along with 200 Acres

Local resident Karen Mitchell, 52, is NOT holding back after a brush fire broke out behind the Simi Valley Target off Cochran Street. “You had ONE job—don’t park your lifted F-150 over dry sagebrush with the engine running,” she wrote in the Simi Valley ROCKS! Facebook group. “Now my kids are breathing smoke because someone couldn’t be bothered to use the ashtray or, I dunno, check the catalytic converter?”

The Ventura County Fire Dept. confirms the blaze was sparked by “illegal roadside hot work” near a homeless encampment. But Mitchell isn’t buying the “they’re victims” narrative. “I drive by that spot every day. Four tents, two propane tanks, and a dog that’s never on a leash. And we’re supposed to feel sorry? Use your head. This isn’t a housing crisis—it’s a firewood crisis.” 🔥

Meanwhile, mandatory evacuations are in place for the Sycamore Canyon area, and Santa Ana winds are pushing flames toward the 118. Mitchell’s final word: “If you see a spark, douse it. If you see an open flame, call the cops. And if you see a broken lawn chair under a tarp, maybe just drive faster.” 🤷‍♀️
