**Stay Safe, Simi Valley — But Maybe Use Some Common Sense Before You Panic.** 🚒

Stay safe, Simi Valley — but maybe use some common sense before you panic. 🚒

Just got back from the neighborhood meeting about the Simi Valley fire that’s been sending up smoke columns all afternoon. Let me tell you what “common sense” actually looks like right now:

📉 Evacuation zones? Check the map before you clog up the 118. Saw three people trying to leave toward the smoke because their GPS told them to. Use your eyes, people.

💧 Hoses left out? Good. Sprinklers running on the roof while the fire is still a mile away? Maybe turn those off until we know the wind direction — you’re just wasting water and making mud for the fire crews to slip in.

🚗 Idling cars in driveways? No. If you’re not leaving now, turn the engine off. Gas fumes + dry brush = recipe for a second fire.

📱 Posting “is it near me?” in the comments? Check the county fire map, not Facebook comments. We’re not your 411.

Stay smart, stay safe, and please — let the firefighters do their jobs without us making it harder.

Update: Wind shifted east. You’re welcome. Now turn off those sprinklers. 💨🔥
