“COMMON SENSE GONE WILD: San Diego Shooting Suspect Was a ‘Model Citizen’ Until the City Gave Him a Key to the City?”

Just saw the article about the San Diego shooting last night. 👀 My blood is boiling.

They’re saying the suspect was a “quiet, law-abiding, everyday guy” who neighbors swore would “never hurt a fly.” Yeah, right. Turns out, two weeks before the shooting, the city council gave him a ceremonial key to the city for “volunteer work at a homeless shelter.”

What part of “common sense” says we hand out VIP passes to people who are one mental breakdown away from a massacre?

And here’s the kicker: The police had been called to his apartment three times in the last month for “wellness checks” because he was ranting on Nextdoor about “the Matrix controlling the weather.” But nope, the DA’s office said “no probable cause” to file a mental health hold. Because that’s “common sense” in 2025.

I’m sorry, but you don’t wait until a man with a legally purchased AR-15 starts screaming about “lizard people” at the farmers market to take action.

San Diego, wake up. Common sense isn’t about “protecting rights” when the result is body bags. It’s about saying, “Hey, maybe the guy who thinks the clouds are government drones isn’t the best person to have a gun and a key to the city.”

Thoughts and prayers won’t fix this. Background checks on character will. Do better.
