Just watched the news about another shooting in Gaslamp last night. They’re calling it a “dispute” that escalated. My son was two blocks away. You know what common sense says? If you’re carrying a weapon after midnight in a crowd of drunk people, you’re not “protecting yourself”—you’re looking for trouble.

And spare me the “mental health crisis” spin. We all have bad days. Common sense is NOT taking an illegal Glock to a bar fight.

We need real consequences for illegal gun possession and we need to stop pretending every street corner is a Western movie. This is San Diego, not the Wild West.

Prayers for the victims. But prayers won’t bring back the two people who died. Common sense will.
