LOCAL MAN DISCOVERS ‘FORWARDS AND BACKWARDS’ ARE THE SAME THING
🚨 Russell Andrews, 47, from Maple Drive, has been branded a “visionary” by no one after he spent 45 minutes arguing on the Oakwood Community Facebook page that “common sense” means we should just bulldoze the new cycle lane because “pedestrians can’t even use it properly.”
In a post that has since been shared 1,200 times (mostly with laughing emojis), Andrews wrote: “I walked my dog down the cycle lane at 3am this morning and nearly got hit by a bloke on a Boris bike. That’s proof it doesn’t work. Bring back common sense.”
Residents responded by pointing out that 3am is not peak cycling time, that his dog was on a 20-foot extendable lead, and that the “Boris bike” belonged to a paramedic rushing to an emergency. Andrews replied: “Well, why didn’t he use the road then? Common sense.”
The council has politely suggested Russell stick to posting about missing cats. 🐈⬛
