**AITA for "Mansplaining" My Wife's Own Birth Plan to the Hospital Staff While She Was Actively in Labor?**

AITA for “mansplaining” my wife’s own birth plan to the hospital staff while she was actively in labor?

Okay, so my wife (29F) is a literal OB-GYN. She’s delivered hundreds of babies. I (31M) sell used cars. We get to the hospital, she’s 8cm dilated and in the “ring of fire” stage. The nurse (let’s call her Karen) asks who the birth partner is. I say, “I’m her husband.”

Karen hands me a clipboard. “Here, dad. This is the standard birth plan. Skin-to-skin, no epidural, delayed clamping. We’ll need you to sign off.”

Before my wife can open her mouth, I take the clipboard, crumple it up, and say in my most condescending tone: “TL;DR. My wife has a PhD in this. You need to check the bloody show in the parking lot before you come at us with a ‘standard plan,’ sweetheart.”

The nurse looked like I just slapped her with a wet fish. My wife, mid-contraction, managed to whisper “based” before screaming.

Now the head nurse is saying I created a “hostile delivery environment.” AITA? I was just protecting my wife’s expertise from a system that assumes men are the decision-makers. My sister-in-law says I was a hero. I think I might have been a little extra.
