📣 Attention Huron County—did anyone else see that disaster at Massie Primary this morning?

My kid came home in tears. I’m not talking about a lost backpack. I’m talking about a fully grown staff member telling a class of 6-year-olds that “feelings are the only rule.” No discipline. No structure. Just a circle time where Tommy got screamed at for raising his hand “too aggressively.”

Common sense, people. You don’t need a degree in child psychology to know that when a child is acting out, you don’t hand them a fidget spinner and call it “emotional regulation.” You teach them respect. You teach them consequences. You teach them that the world doesn’t revolve around their feelings.

And don’t even get me started on the new “anti-bias” curriculum that apparently focuses more on labels than on reading, writing, and arithmetic. My 7-year-old asked me what a “gender-neutral pronoun” is last night. I told him it’s a waste of a school day.

So here’s my question to the school board—since you won’t answer the phone: When did teaching basic behavior and actual skills become “controversial” and when did common sense become “outdated”?
