AITA for saying I’m “glad” my congressman lost his primary because he spent more time cosplaying as a principled libertarian than, you know, actually doing his job?
Context: Thomas Massie lost his primary. Not to some swamp creature, but to a guy who was actually in the room when the government was passing things.
My take: A bunch of “based” neckbeards are currently typing up dissertations on why this is actually a win for liberty, while ignoring that the guy literally voted against disaster relief for his own district. The man took “I don’t want to touch a bill” to a personal, spiritual level. Now he’s going to go run a blockchain retreat in Wyoming or something.
The fallout: The entire Conservative subreddit is in shambles. They’re acting like we just lost Ron Swanson in real life. Calm down, he’ll still be tweeting about the gold standard from his bunker.
TL;DR: “Based” congressman lost. I’m not crying. The “deep state” is apparently just the ability to count votes.
