LEGO SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES “LEGO BATMAN: LEGACY OF THE DARK KNIGHT” — A COMPREHENSIVE TRIBUTE TO THE CAPED CRUSADER’S ENDURING MYTHOS

BILLUND, DENMARK — In a formal statement issued earlier this morning, the LEGO Group officially unveiled its newest major product line and multimedia initiative, titled LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight*. The announcement, which was made during a closed-door press conference at the company’s global headquarters, marks the most substantial expansion of the DC Comics license in the brand’s history.

WHAT: The initiative is defined as a multi-platform project encompassing a range of new, large-scale building sets, an exclusive animated short film, and an interactive digital experience. The core product line is designed to revisit and reimagine key narrative moments from the Batman mythos, extending from the earliest days of Batman’s war on crime through to his most recent challenges as the guardian of Gotham City. The centerpiece of the line is a 6,000-piece “Wayne Manor and Batcave” set, which features fully integrated lighting functions, a rotating garage, and a dedicated display case for twenty distinct, licensed Batman minifigures spanning the character’s 80-plus year history.

WHO: The project is a collaboration between the LEGO Group’s in-house design team and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products. The animated short film is being produced by LEGO’s animation division in Ireland, with scripts reviewed by DC Comics editorial staff to ensure story authenticity.
