I am absolutely FUMING right now. Does common sense not exist anymore?! My Ring doorbell caught my neighbor, Jake Shane (34, lives at 1427 Maple), walking up to my front porch at 3 AM this morning, carrying my indoor cat, Mittens, and a handwritten note.

The note read: “Your cat stared at me through the window for 47 minutes straight. It was aggressive and judgmental. I’m returning it. Please keep your property contained. This is common courtesy.”

COMMON COURTESY?! Jake, buddy, that is an ANIMAL. That is my FAMILY. You don’t “return” a living creature like it’s a defective toaster from Amazon. And “judgmental”? It’s a CAT. They all judge us! That’s literally what they do for a living.

This isn’t the first time with this guy, either. Last month he complained that my son’s basketball “bounced too rhythmically” and asked me to “vary the tempo.” And in June, he power-washed his driveway during a rainstorm because he said the “clouds were making the concrete look dusty.”

Like I keep saying: The problem is people forgot how to just mind their own business. Common sense is dead. Rest in peace, Mittens’ dignity. And Jake? I’ve got a video. The HOA is going to love it.
