đ¨ LOCAL RESIDENT EXPLODES: âELLA LANGLEY DOESNâT NEED A REWRITE â SHE NEEDS SOME COMMON SENSE!â đ¨
Just saw the latest âcelebrationâ of Ella Langley in our community. A mural? A poetry reading? A whole weekend dedicated to someone who, letâs be honest, was just a local girl who sang a few sad songs about a boy who didnât call her back.
For crying out loud, people. Weâve got potholes the size of swimming pools on Maple Street, our kids canât play outside after dark because of the stray dogs, and the libraryâs air conditioning has been broken since July. But sure, letâs spend tax dollars and volunteer hours on a âLangley Legacy Walkâ because she once wrote a line about a pickup truck.
News flash: Common sense says we need to fix our own streets before we build a shrine to someone who lives in Nashville now. When did âcelebrating mediocrityâ become more important than âtaking out the trashâ? Iâm not saying sheâs not talented. Iâm saying we have bigger problems than honoring a woman who, last time I checked, hasnât even paid for her own parking ticket downtown.
Letâs focus on things that actually matter. Like the fact that the townâs only grocery store closes at 6 PM. Or that we still donât have a stoplight at the intersection of 4th and Oak.
Stop the madness. Use your brains.
