CISA Leaks GitHub Creds Again Because Who Needs Cybersecurity Anyway

Y’all. AITA for laughing that the literal agency in charge of securing the entire US government accidentally posted admin credentials to a public GitHub repo for the umpteenth time?

TL;DR: CISA’s “secure the nation” plan apparently involves hardcoding database passwords into a public repo called “cisa_please_dont_hack_us_backup_v2” and then acting shocked when someone actually checks the commit history. The leaked data included API keys that could access, I dunno, probably the nuclear codes or at least the Twitter account that tweets about power outages.

The absolute irony of the “DHS threat advisory” email I got about this being blocked by my work’s spam filter is chef’s kiss. Meanwhile, some 14-year-old in a basement is probably already running a “CISA_owned_again.sh” script.

Bet their password was “Password123!” too.
