FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ANCHOR: “In a move that is redefining the parameters of airport security and premium travel, the Transportation Security Administration has officially launched a new tier of expedited screening: TSA Gold+. This new service, which went live at major hubs this morning, promises the fastest permissible throughput for pre-vetted passengers. Here is what you need to know.”

WHO: The TSA, in partnership with private sector biometric vendors, is implementing this program. The target demographic is high-frequency travelers who have already cleared the highest level of background checks.
WHAT: TSA Gold+ is an upgrade to the existing PreCheck program. It combines a known traveler number with a mandatory biometric digital identity—specifically, an iris scan and a palm-vein pattern. Passengers must present this biometric at a self-service kiosk at the lane entrance. The process eliminates the need to remove any items from bags, remove shoes, or remove jackets. Furthermore, passengers will not be required to present a physical ID or boarding pass at any point in the process, as the biometric link to their flight manifest is confirmed in real time.
WHEN: The official rollout began at 6:00 AM Eastern Time this morning at John F. Kennedy International Airport (Terminal 4), Los Angeles International Airport (Tom Bradley Terminal), and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (Terminal D). A nationwide expansion is scheduled over the next six months.
WHERE: This service is available exclusively at designated “Gold+ Lanes,” which are physically separated from standard PreCheck and standard screening lanes. These lanes feature full-body millimeter-wave scanners that do not require the passenger to assume the standard “stand-and-pose” position, further expediting the flow.
WHY: According to a statement released by TSA Administrator
